    Location: City of London – EC3V

    Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 07:00 – 19:00 & 19:00 – 07:00 (42 hours per week)

    The Role Security Supervisor

     
    The Security Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the Security team. It is essential for them to fully understand their responsibilities and remain adaptable, stepping up or down as needed to meet operational demands, including providing support to the Duty Security Manager when required.

    The primary responsibility of the Security Supervisor is to monitor and analyse the CCTV and Access Control Systems to proactively detect suspicious activities, potential threats, or security risks to the building and its occupants. This includes tracking the movements of staff, visitors, and contractors, and identifying any signs of hostile reconnaissance.

    To perform this role effectively, the Security Supervisor must possess keen observational skills, exceptional concentration, and the ability to multitask, ensuring that multiple incidents or activities are monitored simultaneously and with great attention to detail.
     
    Key Responsibilities
     
    Operations:

    CCTV & Security Monitoring: Continuously monitor CCTV cameras to detect any potential threats or suspicious behaviour and take appropriate action.
    System Management: Operate, monitor, and respond to security systems such as CCTV, Access Con-trol, alarms, and fire alarm activation.
    Shift Handover: Provide a thorough handover at the end of each shift to the oncoming DSM/Security Supervisor and ensure you are familiar with their handover details.
    Team Scheduling: Book team members on duty using the Atlas automated system.
    Collaboration with DSM: Work closely with the DSM to oversee daily security operations and ensure the team maintains high levels of discipline and professionalism.
    Leadership Support: Step in for the DSM when necessary and assist in the overall management of the security operations.
    Service Improvement: Proactively contribute ideas for improving service delivery.
    Multi-Tasking: Be fully versed in various duties, including Loading Bay (Fit-Out/Logistics), Front of House, Post Room, and/or Patrol duties.
    Patrol Duties: Conduct external and internal patrols, ensuring all electronic patrol points are checked and reporting any defects.
    High-Pressure Environment: Ability to work effectively in a demanding Security Control Room.
    Assistance: Support occupiers, contractors, visitors, and tourists with any queries.
    Asset Management: Manage the distribution of keys, radios, and passes.
    Incident Reporting: Write detailed reports following investigations or incidents, adhering to escalation procedures.
    Communication: Oversee all communications from the Security Control Room, including radio and telecommunication management.
    Compliance: Ensure adherence to Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, Policies, and Procedures to maintain a secure environment.
    Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, including the Daily Occurrence Book (eDOB) and any incident logs.
    Training and Development: Ensure team members are adequately trained and perform to the highest standards.
    Ad Hoc Duties: Fulfil any ad hoc duties or tasks assigned, ensuring high standards are met.
    Data Protection: Adhere to all instructions regarding the Data Protection Act 1998.
    Adaptability: Remain flexible and ready to step up or down based on operational needs.
    Personal Growth: Actively seek opportunities for personal and operational development.
    Environment Maintenance: Ensure your work environment remains clean, organised, and presentable at all times.
     
     
    Communication:

    Effective Communication: Demonstrate clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
    Active Listening: Exhibit active listening skills and the ability to interpret non-verbal cues.
    Team Collaboration: Share knowledge and experiences to drive improvements in communication across the team.
    Accuracy in Information: Ensure the accurate dissemination of information and complete documentation in line with procedures.
    Professional Channels: Build and maintain professional communication channels across all departments.

    Training & Development:

    Self-Development: Pursue ongoing self-learning and ensure familiarity with updated policies and procedures.
    Team Training Needs: Identify training needs for both you and your team, ensuring a high standard of continuous training.
    Operational Resilience: Ensure team members are cross trained in various Logistics functions to maintain operational resilience.
    Emergency/Response Training: Be fully prepared and knowledgeable about all emergency and response procedures relevant to your team’s duties.
     
     
    Health and Safety (H&S):

    Adherence to H&S: Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and raise any concerns with the Duty Shift Manager.
    PPE Compliance: Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is issued and maintained according to British Standards.
    Fit for Duty: Ensure you are fit for work prior to each shift and adhere to safe working practices.
    Health & Safety Reporting: Report any health and safety concerns using the appropriate escalation process.
     
     Conduct:
     
    Professionalism: Handle all situations calmly, professionally, and with integrity.
    Operational Flexibility: Be prepared to step up or down based on operational needs and require-ments.
    Appearance: Always maintain a professional and presentable appearance.
    Customer Service: Interact politely and courteously with colleagues, contractors, visitors, and clients, ensuring a positive and secure environment.
