  • About The Role

  • We are seeking a highly experienced Group Head of Procurement to establish and lead a consistent, commercially effective procurement function across the Atlas Group. This is a strategic role focused on delivering sustainable savings, increasing visibility and control of third-party spend, and strengthening supplier and contract management practices across the business. This is a remote position, with occasional travel to Atlas offices required as and when business needs dictate.

Reporting to the Chief People & Business Operations Officer, you will serve as the senior procurement lead for the Atlas Group, working closely with executive leadership, operational divisions, and support functions to define and deliver the Group's procurement strategy, shape procurement priorities, strengthen commercial governance, and drive measurable value across the business. You will identify opportunities to optimise spend, improve value, and drive greater commercial benefit through effective procurement and supplier management.

The successful candidate will lead high-value and strategically important sourcing activities, managing the full procurement lifecycle from requirement definition and market engagement through to tendering, negotiation, contracting, and implementation. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to challenge requirements, drive value-led decision-making, and ensure procurement activity balances cost, quality, risk, service continuity, and long-term value.

You will also establish procurement policies, governance frameworks, and supplier management processes, ensuring appropriate controls, compliance, and visibility across contracts, renewals, supplier performance, and commercial commitments. In addition, you will strengthen supply chain risk management, enhance procurement reporting, and support the development of procurement capability across Atlas through coaching, practical tools, and best practice ways of working.

As Group Head of Procurement, you will play a key role in continuously improving procurement processes, systems, and data, delivering greater control, visibility, efficiency, and value for both internal stakeholders and suppliers.

  • About You

  • We are looking for a commercially minded procurement leader who can drive strategic value, build strong supplier partnerships, and influence stakeholders across the business.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Strong alignment with Atlas's purpose and values.
    • 3 to 5 years' experience operating at a senior level within a complex, multi-site, or multi-business organisation.
    • A proven track record of developing procurement strategies, building procurement capability, and delivering measurable, sustainable commercial value.
    • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, category management, competitive tendering, commercial negotiation, supplier management, and contract lifecycle management.
    • Experience managing a broad range of indirect and service spend, ideally within facilities management, outsourced services, or another operationally intensive environment.
    • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to analyse spend, understand cost drivers, develop business cases, and work with Finance to validate benefits.
    • Confidence in negotiating complex commercial arrangements and understanding key contractual principles, risks, and trade-offs, engaging specialist legal support where required.
    • A strong understanding of supplier risk management and governance, including due diligence, business continuity, compliance, and responsible sourcing practices.
    • Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to constructively challenge senior leaders while balancing group and operational priorities.
    • Experience leading cross-functional and matrix-managed activities. Experience building or leading a procurement team or centre of excellence would be advantageous.
    • Strong analytical skills, with experience using procurement, finance, and reporting data to identify opportunities, monitor performance, and support decision-making.
    • MCIPS or another relevant professional procurement qualification is desirable, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Excellent organisational skills, clear written and verbal communication, and a pragmatic, resilient approach with a strong focus on delivery.
    • The ability to manage multiple strategic priorities and travel to Atlas locations or supplier sites when required.

Treat clients like our best friends

If we’re a family, then our clients are our best friends. Friends who you can be completely open and honest with, because they trust you to put their interests first. We take the time to listen to what’s going on in our clients lives and pull out all the stops to make them feel happy.

    Start with Wow

And never settle for less. Create time to focus on quality and prioritise long-term solutions over short-term fixes. Constantly seek opportunities to learn from others, and if something doesn’t make sense, shout. Always ask yourself if there is more we can do to bring happiness to those around us.

    Don't just talk. Do.

We are a business that thrives on doing. The more we do, the more we succeed. Embrace change. Keep it simple. Keep meetings short. Plan just enough to succeed. And then get on with it.
