Be Part of London's World-Class Theatre Estate

Atlas Workplace Services is proud to partner with Delfont Mackintosh Theatres, owners of some of London's most iconic and prestigious theatre venues. We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Maintenance Operative to help maintain these exceptional buildings and support the delivery of world-class theatre experiences.

This is far more than a traditional maintenance role. You will be the first response to all maintenance issues, acting as the client's trusted eyes and ears on site, identifying risks, resolving issues, and ensuring the highest standards of presentation, safety, and compliance are maintained at all times.

Working within a live theatre environment requires professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. Every repair, inspection, and maintenance task contributes directly to the smooth operation of some of London's most renowned venues.

Experience within a theatre, entertainment, hospitality, or high-profile customer environment would be highly advantageous.

    The Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, compliance activities, and minor works across the theatre portfolio. You will build strong relationships with client representatives and theatre teams, ensuring excellent communication and service delivery at every stage.

You will take ownership of your sites, proactively identifying maintenance concerns and escalating issues where required, helping to protect the integrity and reputation of these prestigious venues.

    Key Responsibilities

    Client & Service Delivery

    • Act as the first response to maintenance issues across the theatre estate, serving as the client's trusted eyes and ears on site.
    • Build strong relationships with theatre teams and stakeholders, providing clear communication and regular updates.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining the high standards expected within a prestigious live theatre environment.

    Maintenance & Compliance

    • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and minor works across the portfolio.
    • Support statutory compliance requirements and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Atlas standards and service level agreements.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and proactively report building issues before they impact operations.

    Systems & Coordination

    • Accurately manage work orders, asset information, and time records using the Maximo CAFM system.
    • Liaise with managers, schedulers, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Support minor works by identifying material and labour requirements where required.

    Technical Maintenance Activities

    • Undertake a broad range of fabric and plumbing repairs, including carpentry, door hardware, sanitaryware, drainage systems, and general building maintenance.
    • Complete routine inspections and compliance tasks, including water hygiene, roof and façade checks, filter cleaning, drainage inspections, and other PPM activities.
    • Maintain the appearance, functionality, and safety of theatre facilities to the highest standard.

    • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
    • Comfortable working within a high-profile, customer-facing environment.
    • Theatre, entertainment, hospitality, or heritage building experience is desirable but not essential.
